    Shared XP should mean Shared XP

    I'm currently playing a co-op game with my hubby. Love the shared XP option; we slapped that bad boy on, increased the range, now go out Z hunting and sharing the rewards. Feels great.

    And I am leaving my hubby standing still on the levelling front, because I mine at night.

    And he potters in the garden. I'm the miner, that's where my skill points went, so, yeah, I should be the miner.

    And TFP recently INCREASED the XP I get form it, for some reason.

    And I get to keep all the XP.

    Shared XP doesn't actually share ALL XP, just zombie XP ... so I'm now level 120, and he's pottering around the mid 80's.

    Shouldn't sharing XP share all XP?

    I think it should too. My opinion.

    Don't get me wrong, shared Z experience is awesome though.

    They should remove this feature. You're right, its not fair/balanced for your husband, or for anyone that prefers to go solo on MP servers. Especially in PvP but even in PvE, who would want to see the teams all level twice as fast, get vehicles earlier and loot the whole map before you even catch up. I have no idea why they added this. It only alienates the solo ppl.

    Well, to be honest I think they're trying to push people to play into teams. Why else would they dramatically increase the EXP grind and then add shared exp feature and shared quests etc?

    I have to ask too, why play on a server and then play solo? Just play single player imo

    Shared xp should be exactly that: shared. Not doubled.
    So EVERY activity should give a fraction of the xp to your partner OR share it 50/50 (or in larger groups 33%each/25%each and so on)

    It should not ADD on top of the xp you get. That is just SO unfair for anyone playing solo. It is impossible to balance and it makes the game even more punishing in the wrong ways (not harder, you just get punished if you don't do exactly as the game says. Want to leave to loot a town? Miss out on xp. Wanna play solo? Miss out on xp.
    Lets see what 17.2 brings...

    Personally, I play Pvp only, and only solo. This feature ruins that. And even if I did play PvE it would be on a server, just because I dont like to share a base with someone doesnt mean I dont want play with other people. SP and alone on a map is boring. (for me) This feature just forces the player to either Co-op or lag behind.

    I can empathize I suppose, but you're quite probably in the minority, although I could be wrong. Certainly can't please everyone.

    Sure, I definitely am the minority. I am sure that above 50% of players that play on servers play co-op.(now anyways, because its the most efficient way) But with TFP's adding all these sliders and game options, its obvious they dont want to alienate playstyles. Which is exactly what this feature does, even if its 20% of people in MP servers that go solo, that still a ton of ppl that are at a disadvantage.

    I mean think about it, teams already get to specialize much earlier, but they also get xp faster? Its crazy to try and force a 20-40% of your MP playerbase to either get teammates or suck compared to the other people on the server. (I am sure that is not their intention, but its still the result)

    It even allows for exploiting. Players in any MP game should not be able to AFK progress. Teams can just sit safely afk and gain xp while 1 person is actually playing. I see this feature as completely flawed for MP.

    lol, oh he has a shovel ... but with my mining skils I mine considerably faster and don't need stamina break. My XP count drawves his even with us both mining.

    I like this idea.
    They will probably just make options for xp share I bet someday. Off, on, kills only, any xp gain,
    then option for the amount - 50\50, or 100\100.
    Probably the best way to do it.


    I don't mind how it currently is personally. Leveling isn't that hard, especially once you have the auger, lagging members can just use that at night to catch up. Falling behind isn't that big a deal, unless you get WAAAY behind.

    Ok then what is the alternative? Don't share exp? People will go back to playing mostly solo again and nothing is solved and the incentive to play co-op is reduced. My opinion though. I think 100% there should be benefit to playing co-op. Playing solo will never be as efficient as playing in a team, that's just how it is. Are we arguing that solo players should be able to exp as fast as people in a team? Sorry but that doesn't make sense to me.

    The feature should not be removed.

    What can be done is like everything else, add options to remove it entirely. And just play on a server that has team sharing EXP disabled, if it really bothers you.

    btw - zombies don't really even give that good exp past mid game anyway.

    So getting to divide up the skill tree and unlocking everything before the solo player and splitting up the responsibilities is not enough of an advantage? You have to get more xp than solo players too? This doesn't add up.

    Not to mention its easily exploited, teams can continue to get XP and progress even when they are AFK, completely flawed.

    Sure it adds up.

    Kill zombies faster = more exp. Simple. In the history of virtually every co-op game that has exp/leveling up, it has always 100% of the time been more efficient to be in a team. I don't know of any that it is faster than play solo, unless you account for the fact that sometimes team can be inefficient to coordinate and you can sometimes waste time that way.

    Anyway it's not "More" exp, think of it this way, a team kills zombies faster, so yes, faster exp. Per zombie, its the same exp as solo but you kill more faster, so yeah, it's going to be faster, why not?

    Anyway - again, make it an option, we won't agree on this, so they should make it an option so you can find a server where they have it disabled. Options are good. Options make everyone happy.

    To be honest I thought at first that shared xp was how it sounded, we shared the xp. For example is I kill a zombie worth 1000 xp I would get 50% and 50% went to party. 2 in party 500 for me 500 for other, 3 in party 500 for me 250 for other 2, 4 in party 500 for me 167 for other 3 (rounded up), etc. Same way would work for them.
