Strangest thing happened the first time i played 9.0. I was crossing a river and so had to go underwater. When I escaped the other side, I started drowning on dry land and died. Apparently the game didn't update that I had left the water. I have since entered the water several times without this happening so it's not consistent. anyone else have this problem?

It does have some wonk to it. I'll have the coder take another look at it.

my friend experienced this too, he thought it was created by going underwater and activating z mode, then coming out of water in z mode and turning z mode off. we couldnt seem to replicate it easily though

The switch is sticking for some reason, I've got it on the programmers desk.

I noticed it as well.

Once I crossed the river, I got bombarded with status update messages about drowning, no longer drowning, etc. even after I was up on dry land.

It was almost as if all of the system state changes went into a buffer, and as then as they left the buffer (via the notification on the UI), they popped their effect. At least that was the impression on the one time I crossed the river.

I exited and re-entered a stream then exited again and drowned on dry land.. :(

Seems that is poosible to get 2 OČ debuffs;
I was swinging holding space, then two debuff were listed. As soon I get out, one remained, so I died on dry land.

Was crossing a river, went underwater, had the O2 buff for drowning, climbed on dry land and walked for 40-50m still "drowning" and died. O2 buff never went away when I came out of the water.

Yes, I have also had this problem. Drowned on dry land...
The messaging system also seems very very lagged... I entered and exited water several times and the messages just kept on comming for about 5 minutes after I left the water cycling from "underwater cant breathe" to "you can breathe again" over and over. It seemed to cycle the correct amount of times but the problem is it is sending the messages far too late.

My friend was just suffering from the drowning debuff but never actually died. She just told me to stay away from the water and that her screen was shaking.

It was happening to a lot of us last night. For now, you have to make sure the debuff is gone after you leave the water. If it stays, go back in and out of the water until it's gone or you will die.

Here as well http://i.imgur.com/E53oqMB.jpg the debuff would come on randomly (not on in screenshot) but it WOULD eventually kill me, I had to dive back in the water and get out to stop it.

Easy way around it every time is to hold jump before you go in and stay above.

I was plodding around in random world, i was underwater for maybe 3 seconds, then i came up and got on the land, however the underwater debuff didnt go away, i ran to a hill, thinking it was a level issues but i drowned in the open on a hill.

Known bug. When you leave the water, always keep an eye on the o2 symbol in the bottom left. If it remains, immediately enter the water again SLOWLY and come back out SLOWLY. Usually fixes it. If all else fails, jump in and out like a madman

it was here (http://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?13773-A9-0-Drowning), titled "Drowning" on page 2. No clue why search didn't pick it up.

The switch is sticking for some reason, I've got it on the programmers desk.

I had this happen once so now I don't go under water. Good to know it's being looked into.

Also I want to thank the Pimps for A 9. It is like playing an entire different game now.
