Any idea what is causing this?

No, but IU can tell you that alt-tabbing out of the game creates its own set of issues. You should probably stop doing that.

Thanks for the reply Doc. Will try not to Alt-tab. I was concerned it was pointing to a problem with my pc. Whew.

I, too, am having a similar problem. "Access violation" crashes every so often in the game. Sometimes it'll be an hour in, other times it'll be five minutes in.

There's really no guess as to what causes this? Here's two of my 15 or so crash reports from the last three days. Pretty much makes the game unplayable, as I lose any newly added inventory when this happens.
