Both the Scrap Metal Secure Door and Hard Metal Secure Door refuse to be placed on stone or scrap metal reinforced floors, even when the appropriate 1x2 square opening is properly framed by solid blocks. Hard Metal Secure Doors can be rotated but not placed. Scrap Metal Secure Doors play the rotation sound when left-clicked, but do not change orientation when doing so, and cannot be placed.

Have you tried just right-clicking anyway to see what happens? Whenever I place doors, the orientation is always off but they place just fine. I may have missed something here and, if I have, we can put that down to lack of sleep...

Doors are like magnets to zombies... why would you want to use them?

This is definitely true. One question while we're talking about zoms and doors though... Do doors actually add to the spawn rate/locations?

I doubt it. But each shot fired basically spawns a zombie though.

Huh. That seems...odd

I have their spawn rate set to maximum

Ah, I'm on the Reddit server. Think it's on medium.

Right clicking to place either door has no effect in any orientation. At least on the surfaces I tried (flat natural stone, fully upgraded wood frame blocks).

Then I'm baffled...

Someone said placing on wood has an issue with doors. As far as stone I think it has to be a man made block to place the door, but I'm not sure.

It doesn't, but all sides need to be stable with no frames or spaces. (I have yet to try placing a door in 9.1)

The alternative is "scrap iron door" and that gets broken in 5 hits. There is no other security door (http://doorslasvegas.com/) option better than this one. It is a reliable source of security.
