View Full Version : Multiplayer Negative Kill Count After Reaching Score of Approximately 34000

On a multiplayer server (All Night Gamers | Admins | USA | PvE) I reached a score of about 34000+ and on my screen is says the correct kill count and correct score count, but on other peoples screens it shows a negative kill count. Could this be something the administrators of the server are doing or a bug? This is not really an important matter to fix, but I was wondering if someone has seen this before.

I have been on a server where the top couple of players had negative numbers for kills.

Zombie kills was what turned negative. Someone had said it may be a result of a limit on max kills. What's truly weird though is that it shows correctly on my client, but not on other peoples applications. Yeah, I play this game too much.

Maybe it is because other people view your lust for wanton violence negatively.

32767 is the biggest value that fits into signed 16bits. If you add one to that maximum value, you will get -32768.
I guess they need to use normal 32bit integers to circumvent that.

Yeah, someone had said that. I would have hoped they would have used the same code for the clients though. Bummer.
