View Full Version : Mechanics A13.1 Skill point: minor bug

12-14-2015, 07:31 PM
So I was adding points to the extra-slow-to-level-up tool smithing skill. While hitting the button to upgrade, my arthritis made my finger hit the right mouse button at nearly the same time as the left, and I wound up purchasing 2 points, bringing my available skill points to -5. Yes, negative 5 points available, as I didn't have enough to buy 2 points.

Potentially a tiny bit exploitable as someone could use it at max character level to get a freebie, but otherwise a very minor issue. Haven't leveled up again since then to see if it is always repeatable, will try again when I can, but feel free to try it out and chime in if it can always occur.

This bug is still present in the current A13.2.

Basically what happened here is that I purchased Tool Smithing skill and suddenly I ended up with -2 skill points available. I'm pretty sure this is not just a minor bug though, because if we can go into negative amount of skill points, we will most likely get lower amount of skill points once we level up our character again (since it first has to get into 0 skill points again to be able to add new skill points), in other words it will be actually harder to improve your skills when this happens to you.
