Hi all!

In a record breaking approval time, Patch 6 will be going live today around 11am PST (That's about 8pm for us GMT folks)

-Please do not post bug reports etc below. This thread is for the discussion of the patch ONLY. There is a section for bug reporting.
-No I do not have further info on A15 features or updates on MD5 and Multiplayer issues. When I have those updates they will get their own post.

It’s official! Patch 6 for 7 Days to Die on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has begun to roll out. Here’s a list of most (not all) of the fixes included in this patch. We hope you all enjoy!

* The Journal –collects in-game tips and experiences as the player progresses through the game, acting as both an explanation of game mechanics and as a chronology of player experiences. The Journal is a primary page available via the window paging button at the top of the screen or via the radial menu

* Dynamic Blood Moon Horde Difficulty – this system automatically adjusts the difficulty of the horde that a player gets on horde night to offer a challenge better suited to them. Difficulty is determined by the following:

o How long the player has lived without a death
o The level of the player
o The game difficulty settings
o How many players are in a group

*Note* The horde will keep coming until dawn breaks; the player will clear the “real” horde at some point but will continue to get a zombie or two for the duration of the night

* Container Sorting –provides an option to automatically stack all stackable items and move like items together in a given container to clean up messy inventories

o Players can also now use a handy UI pop-up to quickly modify the number of items they want to craft, select, move around, etc.


Additional Fixes

* Fixed a bug that prevented the “Yucca Plant” resource from being harvested from Yucca plants

* Fixed an issue that would prevent pistols from being returned to the inventory once they were dropped

* Fixed an issue with world gen that would sometimes cause POIs to spawn over ravines

o *NOTE* This will only be fixed in new games created after the installation of Patch 6

* Fixed an issue that would cause spikes placed too closely beneath stairs to damage a player climbing those stairs

* Fixed an issue that would prevent players from consuming water from natural sources unless they were almost submerged in them

* Fixed an issue that would cause harvested crops to not stack with existing stacks of those crops in the toolbelt

* Fixed an issue that would cause the auger to fall through the ground when dropped from a player’s inventory in a multiplayer game

* Fixed an issue that would cause the ground to disappear when a player was placing or removing blocks

* Fixed an issue that would cause the pipe bomb to fall at the player’s feet when they would try to throw it

* Fixed an issue that would cause Blood Moon zombies to run back and forth between the host and clients on a map if they were in different areas of the map

* Fixed an issue that would cause the player to teleport to the surface of the map when dismounting a Minibike near a cave wall

* Fixed an issue that was allowing items to be dropped into walls, rendering them irretrievable

* Fixed an issue that was preventing the “Collect item” prompt from appearing on a dropped Stone Shovel

* Fixed some minor performance issues that would occur when players would use LB/RB or L1/R1 to scroll through in-game menus

* Fixed an issue that would occasionally cause large quantities of player-placed blocks to become invisible in player-made caverns

* Fixed an issue that was preventing the distance between players from being updated when the user is in the Players tab

* Fixed an issue that would allow players to upgrade and destroy blocks simultaneously

* Fixed an issue that would occasionally cause airdrops to freeze in midair

* Fixed an issue that would display a pick-up prompt to appear for land mines and pressure plates and allow them to be picked up, reducing their usefulness as a trap

* Fixed an issue that would cause the max stamina and health values to be different from one another when the player would consume meat stew

* Fixed an issue that would cause the ammo count to disappear after respawning while wielding a weapon

* Fixed an exploit that would allow the player to mine resources upon destruction of the two-part fridge

* Fixed an issue that caused cemeteries to occasionally spawn above the ground instead of on it


Art/Audio

* Fixed an issue that would cause the “player catching fire” sound effects to persist wherever the player caught fire, even once the fire that caused the damage was extinguished


System/Stability

* Fixed an issue that was preventing the achievement “Playing Doctor” from unlocking for players playing in non-English languages

* Fixed a crash that would sometimes occur when a player would attempt to strike certain blocks

Damn, on a Wednesday? I think this is the first time seeing a patch (for any game) drop on a day that isn't Tuesday, although my memory can be pretty bad at times, so I've probably seen it happen before and just don't remember LoL. Either way, great news.

You're not supposed to be able to mine resources from fridges? Damn. I thought that was a feature, same as ovens and cars etc.

Claire I hope you don't mind but I really got 1 suggestion if you have coffee with a dev this week lol. It would be so helpful to scrap from a search inventory like PC like when you search something I staid of having to pull it to your inventory it's no biggie but would be a big help thanks

Thank you for the patch! But... minibike exit made with poles are useless now... you can't drive through poles anymore so I had to make a ramp where I can jump to the roof with minibike.
Dynamic horde disapointed me. Only 1 feral and cop in 154 night horde.

Yes thank u Clare for the update its nice the be able to make my yucca juice again and the ability to niw enter a number into the crafting bix is much appreciated. It does suck not being able to drive minibike thru pillar 50's now but in a way its good for the game cause u shouldn't be able to do it in first place if u can't walk thru em how can u possibly drive thru em.
Hoping soon we can start getting few trickles of A15 features,even if it's just simple things like new building blocks or lootable gore blocks. But I also understand that the game needs to be stable the way it is first so keep up the great work, we true fans appreciate it.

Loving the new patch... I woke up this morning and the patch had me breakfast waiting and warmed my car up for me !

I have come across an small issue while collapsing land, seems the dirt will not pick up all at once like it did before and either you need to click each one seperately or look at them, which increase the time in clearing land. And yes the driving between cement columns seems to have changed, have not tested the horde yet as i got upset over the collapsing as i am still clearing land for my build but gave up for now.

Seems to be playing good. Still have an issue with smg and ak-47 audio persisting in multiplayer for all players after a single shot is fired. Thanks for the hard work guys!

so glad this update was released so quickly. Very frustrating that the audio bug is still going on as it has been known for a long time

I haven't gotten to completely experience the new update but wanted to express the love I got for this game. Really wanted to say thank you to the team for everything that you guys are doing to make this game blossom. Keep it up! :]

Yeah man, the dynamic horde also was really disappointing for me. 147 night horde (I believe) only had 2 Feral and 3 Cops and no spiders. Only died 5 times, and it's been a really long time since I've died. Im gonna give it another horde night to see if it changes. But to be honest, it was boring... really boring.

The Yucca Juice bug has not been fixed for me by Patch 6 - still only getting Yucca fruit from Yucca plants, fruit and plant fibres from cactus.

At around 30 minutes in the patch 6 gameplay vid from Mregomies (btw thanks man for that vid) you can see that Yuccajuice is now made from Yuccafruit.
I think they made it the same way like Alpha15 afaik, so the quote from Clare is a little bit misleading. Couldn't confirm that by myself...

You use Yucca Fruit to make Yucca Juice, the recipe has been updated to the A15 version.

Sorry I understand how that part of the notes might be confusing. So what happened was in the last patch what was harvested from the Yucca did not match the recipe. Now they do - This is done by the recipe being the A15 recipe, and you can no longer harvest the item called "Yucca Plant" from a Yucca in the world, you harvest the fruit needed for the now matching recipe.

Fell in love with this game literally! Haha every time a patch and update is released I get hyped... Only to find it still won't let anyone connect to my server... Uninstall again and wait for the next update :(

So a friend of mine kept saying he could not connect to severs, so he went into his xbox settings and looked up NAT setting to make sure it was set to open, it wasn't. It was set to strict. He changed it to open and has had 0 problems since.

Nice patch :) but any update as far as md5 terrain rewriting is going clare? That's my main biggy till I start playing again been a week and can't wait to return to some new fixes do you think they will be pre patch 7or post patch 7?

Red menace, I have had luck with hard resets every time the game crashes. So far we have not lost anything since doing it this way.

Brave of you guys to do pretty much just a big bug fix update. Well done though. It cant be the most fun part of the job.

Small part of me hoping it was rushed out cos there's a content update around the corner. I know I know,we are never satisfied! :-)

I haven't even had half the problems other people have. I play pretty often and rarely get kicked but I'm glad they are sorting out the issues that can spring up and ruin the immersion.

Got a feeling this horde night change only becomes noticeable in a new game...?

We have 2 crate drop icons stuck on our map. And this happened last time we played. When we reloaded the game next time they were still there. This is on PS4.

We are? Oh snap, I had no idea, didn't feel an inkling of impatience.

Admittedly, I haven't had the time to play through a horde night on the new patch so I don't know how much it has changed but from the things I have gathered by listening on MadMole's videos is that they are constantly trying to adjust various things to see how it plays out. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't and they will have to adjust again. This actually sounds a bit like what they have on A15 on PC now, on the latest video of the let's play series from GandSpartan he had no ferals and no cops on his 28 day horde.

And I just lost a minibike. That's like 25 of them I've lost now. It's stuck right under the ground at bedrock so everytime I walk over it I hear loud metal clanking sounds and I have to jump over an invisible block! Keep up the great work iron galaxy. You guys are the best.

No man you're wrong. There's no point in releasing a game to be SOLD. And then BOUGHT BY US when game doesn't even work. The game is amazing. I love it. But you can't even play it because of all the bugs. They release a game that doesn't work and then we're the bad guys because we spent our money on it and we're mad it doesn't work???? No dude. That's not how it works. Clare will just block me because she shouldn't even have this job because she can't deal with the negative criticism. They are the ones that released a broken game. They are the ones that should pay the price. Not the customer. I've lost 7 accounts because of terrain rewrite. That's 30 plus lvl 500 snipers. Millions of ores. Over a thousand in game days. And all I have is a day 28 account with boring hordes to show for all the time I've put into this game. I have a right to be upset just like the rest of us that's lost accounts. I feel robbed. they knew this game wasn't ready for console release but they saw money signs and got greedy

After sitting here and thinking about what I said I would like you all to know that I am sorry about what I said. I'm just been really frustrated with this game and how it decides to delete half my work in a split second. Clare you work your ass off and I'm really not an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It may seem like I am but I'm not. I hope all of the problems with this game are fixed and hopefully in the future I'll be able to sit down and be worry free while playing. The best luck to all the devs and also to you Clare. Take care all

I understand how frustrating and disheartening these bugs can be for players and I appreciate your apology Darin, thank you.

For the record for everyone: players are more than welcome to share your opinions on parts of the game you do and don't like and let us know you're frustrated, tell us about issues and we will help as best we can while working on fixes and making this game the best it can be. We're also happy to listen to any suggestions you have too, no just bug reports. So long as posters stick to forum rules, and post in a respectful manner, it is all good by me :)

I do not know the details of this glitch, please post in the Console Bug Reports section with as much detail as possible. This thread is only for discussing Patch 6.

But i'm disappointed because after the next patch we must recreate a new game if we want last bug correction, & the PC player don't need recreated game.... Can u explain it ?

Rastapog, if the bug has to do with terrain generation or POI generation, that will require a fresh start. There were only 2 bugs in the last patch that Delt with it, the cemetery bug at the bottom of the list, and the POI generation above a ravene near the middle, which has a note under it. If your map dosent have that issue, or you can live with the way those are, you can continue your current save and enjoy all other fixes.

PC often need to restart. When Alpha 15 was released, they restarted every few days as TFP tested and changed features and optimized the alpha. When A16 comes out they may need to do that again. When features are refined and ready on PC there are ported over to us - some features will not require a restart, like the dynamic hordes or recipe changes, they take effect automatically. Something physically in the world however, like the POI generation will need a new save generated to take effect, because players build everywhere and anywhere, we don't want to have a building pop into one you may have already built.

I agree with Darin to a certain degree the game shouldn't have been release to console it's about to be January and still not much of adding new contents have been released to even remotely say the game is better. The hoards are boring it doesn't matter how much points you put into your 2 perks that controls your hunger or thirst it seem to still go down pretty fast. There are no new cloths,weapons,armor,ammo, or things to build. When you plant a tree there a 3% chance that tree won't be planted giving off a sound that a tree is falling. The zombies are boring you barely see any screamers and spiders. The cops are no where to be seen in the city's. The mini bikes are like 2% chance in finding. The player had a small chance of getting stuck on the stairs or the wall. The deers are so fast you can't raven sneak up on them. And you get cold alot faster even when it's supposed to be hot. In all honesty telling people that they can voice there thoughts about the game and what the team of seven days to die can do to make it better always seem to fall on deaf ears when there are tons who have said there peace the problem is they don't care to its plan and simple because if they did they would work there asses on it as they do the pc version specially what better of a surprise to do so then to put more extra content for Xmas but I guess that was expecting to much for that to happen not being a ass about it but it's true I got this game back in August and nothing really had change about it much

That may take awhile, but I would guess that it's coming.

Even Minecraft on the Xbox One and PS4 is still a couple of years behind PC Minecraft in updates, which is kind of hilarious to see a new Minecraft video from Achievement Hunter, and they are excited about something being introduced that I've known about and already turned into a farm over a year ago.

Still, the updates may be behind, but I'm sure they will reach parity eventually.

Sounds good. However, please work on other repeating sound issues. There are a couple items that once you use them consistently for 5 to 10 seconds, the sound will keep looping. Auger, fast automatic guns, etc...

Also, I'd love to see vendors show up on the console version. Gives you another path for obtaining bullets and a good outlet for getting rid of extra items (by selling).

Any idea when the next update will be? Slowly dying inside waiting for traders and item combining in the workbench

Funny how the game works for everyone, if don't like ♥♥♥♥ing sell the game or don't play it and it fully STATES when your buying the game it is in alpha and may or may not be worked on to completion. You me and everyone in this forum brought this game knowing this and of bugs and glitches and instead of whinging why don't you send a detailed message about what happen etc so tfp can get a better idea of what is going on

Hello all you 7 days fans! I'm new to the forum and may be posting in the wrong place... just wondering if anyone has any idea of if or when console will be getting more of the alpha 15 content... ie drawbridge, arrow slit blocks.. electrical etc... oh and maybe a trap door and electric doors for pvp... traps like in use with pressure plate... the alarm was a great idea but may need to maybe toggle sound ... when a player or A.I. step on the plate, the alarm should maybe stay on until it's stepped on again, or maybe a timer of 30 seconds before it shuts off. just some ideas, even though console has no such features, it would be great if it did... pc version seems to get all the goodies... I bought ps4 just for 7 days... hoping it gets more content.. any idea when?

I have not played this game since patch 4 when me and my wife were playing and came back on a few days later to find our house had disappeared, so we decided to play last night to log on this morning to find out our house disappeared again while we were in it how the ♥♥♥♥ have you not fixed this 2 patchs later

You can blame sony for them not being able to clarify the game is in development. Sony doesn't have an official alpha or eraly game category, sony doesn't like indie devs, they like big devs who carge you upwards of 150 dollars a game. or indie devs like ark, who are still in alpha and giving you paid dlc.

if you played 7 days for it's shooter aspect alone and were disappointed because it doesn't have a rigid ♥♥♥♥ty building system like miscreated and ark, thats your own fault in every way for not doing research. Did you buy minecraft expecting it to be a hard survival game?

you just bought a backhoe good at making stuff, expecting it to be a tank. than raged about it. good call.

you do realize the description states " Days to Die has redefined the survival genre, with unrivaled crafting and world-building content" it doesn't state bad combat action with many different dinosaurs that get stuck in trees, in your base and die. Ark is 100x buggier than 7 days man, thats a well known fact.

"No need for any one to answer if you don't work at fun pimps or iron galaxy or wot ever" than do your research and post your little unhelpful rant in the bug reporting section. You can't state an opinion for everyone to read and not expect to be corrected.

I suggest you stick to ark, and keep paying dlc fees for a buggy alpha game, while we get free ones with 7 days to die, which is by far a cheaper game.

(don't get my wrong guys, I like ark, I just hate fanboyism, of either game, its unfair to all)

I havent played ark, but from what I've seen it is in fact comparing apples to oranges.

And the paid DLC, is only skins. Not something that would impact gameplay if you didn't purchase it. So yeah, your arguments, if I can go as far as calling them that, are void.

Skippy is basically a professional gamer, and i am almost positive, has many more hours logged into these titles than you do. Hell his videos are part of the reason I gave this game a shot in the first place. Meaning, his opinion weighs a touch more than yours.

Currently, there is no other game close to this except minecraft maybe, available. What I find funny is your on a 7dtd forum, wasting your time, just to spout hate. Which would lend me to ask, who is the actual fanboy here? Unless there was some level of love for this game, what would drive you here, day in and day out?

Are there bugs? Yes. Can it get better? Yes. Is it frustrating at times, with the lack of communication about planned fixes? Absolutely.

But the bugs are manageable. (For me) It is consistently being updated, usually at least one patch a month, and I don't blame them one bit for being tight lipped, when no matter what they say people will never be happy.

If it's not to flame them for being money grubbers who sold a $hitty game, it's to beg them for more content.

So as a parting shot. Go play ark. Put this game down for a few months and let them fix the bugs that make it unplayable to you.

I would like to know how many hours all you haters have into this game. Because at 15/20 dollars, anything more than 20/30 hrs put this game at a price point with renting a movie from Redbox. And I don't see you guys asking for your dollar back every time you watch a movie that wasnt up to your standards.

Hey all

New to the forum, just joined, and I'm curious about when console is going to have all the fun things that PC currently has. Is this in the works? I know this has PROBABLY been answered a million times, and I am more than likely beating a dead horse, but I am just too gosh darn excited not to ask myself, so please forgive me...and I can't seem to find an exact answer anywhere.

I have been watching streams online of 7DTD, and I was worried because the latest patch for console did not quite bring it up to par of where PC currently is in terms of content. At first, I thought there was an issue after the patch and for whatever reason, the patch did not work correctly on my Xbox. Then after a little forum reading I realized there was no issue.

Every 7DTD console player knows what I am talking about. The ability to combine items, craft that nifty chemistry set, and of course TRADERS!!! This isn't everything that I hoped would appear in the last patch for console, but just a few wished for items :)

Again, forgive me if this has been discussed, but I am really realllllly excited to know when this content is being added. I picked up 7DTD over a month ago and can't stop playing it!

We're getting most of it is what I keep reading and being told. But before that, there are a bunch of game breaking bugs that need to be sorted out. Thus, more focus is going into that instead of more content. The last patch fixed alot of issues but also, as with updates go, created a few more. We all just need a little more patience and we shall receive.

Anyone have more info about the way the horde keeps coming until morning? It makes it sound a bit like killing the zombies is irrelevant and you just want a durable enough base to last until morning then kill the remainders. But if the number of zombies decrease after the initial main horde, then it makes sense to kill them all as they come.

Speaking of which, I need to find that setting that enables more zombies to be spawned at any one time. They tend to trickle in in small waves a bit on blood moon instead of approaching like a big horde, and I think my computer could handle more zombies ok.

I'm slightly confused about the trader's function - everything I have to sell sells for about maybe 10 tokens, while anything I'd want to buy starts around 2000 lol. Even those night vision goggles I found sell for a tenth the buying price. It doesn't seem like good economics to trade if everything is that expensive.

That's probably why they added the Barter skill. Putting points into that makes Traders much more useful

Since you're on a pc, you should check out the modding section of this forum. You'll be able to find out how to edit the maxAlive amount of zombies on horde night to something higher than the current number, which is 8

Hey! Be grateful for those 10 tokens haha. Some of us don't get squat for our unwanted dead zombie finds :P

Does seem a bit unfair though. On the PC streams I have been watching they give you next to nothing for your goods, and meanwhile try and sell you a 300 lvl hunting rifle for 13K. I heard you get booted out just before nightfall...where does the game send you to?

I asked this same question just today :D no definite word on when the next update is...however...do not expect new features to be added until the current bugs have been resolved (there are still many to resolve). It might be some time before we see a version for console that holds the same content level as PC. I myself am eager for traders, new building items, and new craftable items that PC currently has available.

Fondumann - as you mentioned your computer, are you on PC? Just to let you know this is the console thread - you could probably use a Mod or command console. Otherwise you might get an answer if you post in general discussion. A lot of players have played through blood moons now and would be able to describe how they find it. During the horde, rather than them all coming at once, they will come in smaller waves, when the horde zombies have been killed the waves will decrease but you'll probably get a zombie or two still showing up until the blood moon ends.

It’s official! Patch 6 for 7 Days to Die on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has begun to roll out. Here’s a list of most (not all) of the fixes included in this patch. We hope you all enjoy!

* The Journal –collects in-game tips and experiences as the player progresses through the game, acting as both an explanation of game mechanics and as a chronology of player experiences. The Journal is a primary page available via the window paging button at the top of the screen or via the radial menu

* Dynamic Blood Moon Horde Difficulty – this system automatically adjusts the difficulty of the horde that a player gets on horde night to offer a challenge better suited to them. Difficulty is determined by the following:

o How long the player has lived without a death
o The level of the player
o The game difficulty settings
o How many players are in a group

*Note* The horde will keep coming until dawn breaks; the player will clear the “real” horde at some point but will continue to get a zombie or two for the duration of the night

* Container Sorting –provides an option to automatically stack all stackable items and move like items together in a given container to clean up messy inventories

o Players can also now use a handy UI pop-up to quickly modify the number of items they want to craft, select, move around, etc.


Additional Fixes

* Fixed a bug that prevented the “Yucca Plant” resource from being harvested from Yucca plants

* Fixed an issue that would prevent pistols from being returned to the inventory once they were dropped

* Fixed an issue with world gen that would sometimes cause POIs to spawn over ravines

o *NOTE* This will only be fixed in new games created after the installation of Patch 6

* Fixed an issue that would cause spikes placed too closely beneath stairs to damage a player climbing those stairs

* Fixed an issue that would prevent players from consuming water from natural sources unless they were almost submerged in them

* Fixed an issue that would cause harvested crops to not stack with existing stacks of those crops in the toolbelt

* Fixed an issue that would cause the auger to fall through the ground when dropped from a player’s inventory in a multiplayer game

* Fixed an issue that would cause the ground to disappear when a player was placing or removing blocks

* Fixed an issue that would cause the pipe bomb to fall at the player’s feet when they would try to throw it

* Fixed some minor performance issues that would occur when players would use LB/RB or L1/R1 to scroll through in-game menus

System/Stability

* Fixed an issue that was preventing the achievement “Playing Doctor” from unlocking for players playing in non-English languages

* Fixed a crash that would sometimes occur when a player would attempt to strike certain blocks

Hi so Im new to 7 Days to dies but clocking in 100+ hour so far over the last 2 weeks so not sure what below is new or pre existing but here are the bugs I have noticed


- Poor frame rate in general. On a regular bases the frame rate drops to clearly below 20fps at best and it doesnt seem to matter where or what you are doing. Even when in a cave when the draw calls should be limited as your in a small place and cant see much it still happens

- Full frame rate drop/lock - Game locks up completely and freezes, usually after about 10 seconds it resumes but still frustrating

- Constant crashing - I host private servers and during a day the server has crashed easily 10+ times


Suggestions ideas

- Forum verification. Some of the men actually look like women ;-)
- GPS trackers for Bikes
- Hordes just don't feel like horde, Now in a voxel game I guess having tons of zombies running around isnt possible due to technical restrictions but more than we have. It doesnt matter how tough they are just having 10-15 zombies running at your base even on max settings just feels very meh.


Other than that, great game and I hope the worst case issues will continue to be addressed as soon as possible and look forward to further fixes/content.

I like the idea behind the dynamic blood moon horde, but something is wrong. My wife & I are over day 100, died under 6 times, and have spawn size maxed; after the last patch, blood moons are significantly less challenging because far less zombies spawn with fewer police & ferals. In fact, some random day spawns generate more zombies and are more difficult than blood moons. I prefer the flood of zombies pre-patch 6 in which I was really concerned about dying and/or having my base damaged vs the dynamic trickle that can be casually soloed with no real threat of loss.
