The Sphinx is built like a Dungeon. To get to the best loot places you have to fight through the Sphinxīs Underground.
The Underground consists of several chambers which are connected to each other. In some cases, traps of past times can be found.
They can be lethal! Be careful and donīt rush into it.



Install:

Download and place the files into your 7dtd directory/Data/Prefabs/
After that you have to edit Data/Config/rwgmixer.xml.

How to edit rwgmixer.xml

add this line to every Spawngroup you want the prefab to spawn.

You can copy it to all Groups but i recommend to spawn the Sphinx only in the wilderness and/or rural.

so im currently working on a new release but i got a major problem. It occured after placing a broken brick block...

I need some help figuring out what is causing the problem in my POI. I dont hope its complete broken because of that error...

in that picture you can see the problems. some blocks dissapear and let me see through them. cant destroy or replace them, otherwise i got the error. after that i cant even destroy any block without getting the error.

I spent massive time to redo the complete underground dungeon. I have a backup of the prefab... but after that i spent another 5-6 hours and almost finished the layers and rooms. i have to say it looks amazing and i hope someone can save my ass:))

The explanation is you have hit a texture bug that seems to have returned.

Where you place a block and a whole part of the structure dissappears. This has happenned to me in the past. Simply export the prefab edit it in pilles like remove the outside areas of the prefab as you normally do and reinsert into a new game and see if that fixes the issue

Dang annoying especially when my prefab is like 800 x 700 lol and have to flatten a large area first. Then import airport lol.

got it again while placing destroyed brick (id: 1473) . kinda annoying. I canīt even place 400 of the blocks before it breaks. And im only halfway through... Now i donīt know how to get it done. Thereīs no other block which fulfills the purpose

Sometimes you have to redo the export and import. It's annoying but til the bug is squashed. This the only method.

I tried almost everything. The only solution for me is to replace the bricks with pilles editor. After multiple edits i am able to spawn the prefab with no error again.
i did this like 20 times. place some bricks , save it before the error appears and if it appears solve it with the editor. At this time it doesnt look the way i want it to but its ok. better than nothing.

so i want to make the next step and paint the prefab because i cant place more bricks etc.

Now i canīt paint the blocks in the prefab...i mean some can be painted but most of the blocks wonīt.

whats happening? im losing hope..

Sometimes you have to hit the block at a diff angle for it to be painted. Maybe it's the same. Like you paint a whole area a few blocks don't get painted. You habe to hit them individually and try all sorts of angle. Even standing on your head with your tongue to the left....

I tried hard....and i wouldnt post if its an angle problem...its more like segments of the prefab arent paintable since the vertices error.

I find painting stairs more than difficult, I imagine smaller faces to be a beast.

this is what worked for me when having blocks that for some reason would not be painted, i am running starvation mod, and i changed the dll to activate the ingame editor mode, so when i have block that wont paint this is what i do, i place a new block of the same type into my hand, i then look at the block that have issues and do a shift + rightClick this chenges the painted block out with the new block from my hand(a function from the editor) and by doing so the block updates itself and the not painted area is then painted. i honestly dont think that its because u cannot paint the blocks, it is just a issue with updating the block so that the paint is visible, so in theory any way u can update the block should work.

andy are u part of the 7d2d discord? if so then please join the voice chat and ill explain, im not so good at explaining in writing :)

edit: if ur running a vanilla 7d2d game version then there is a thread on the forum started på herrpohl, he has a download for the dll for every version of the game, easy just click n drag into folder install.

re-edit: also ive found that on some blocks that u have to hit the top right corner with the paint brush to get it to color the block

it worked. I can replace the blocks and it then shows the selected paint. But its a pain in the ass doing it per hand. I have to select new paint very often.

sadly this funtion doesnt work anymore:

its very nice to hear that u got it to work :) and i can only agree that it can be a bit tedious to replace blocks like this, but it is atleast a last resort to get it to work ;)

i will try testing out this issue ur having with the destroyed bricks and see what happens on my end :)

i am a bit pressed on time atm so it might not be tonight that i test it :)

i dont think it has something to do with that.
I have to paint all sites of the block i want to use . Then i need to copy it with middle mouse. In that way the painted sites are copied and i can succesful replace blocks in my prefab.
if i just replace them with shift+rightclick the old paint or whatever will go away but it remains unpaintable(canīt copy paint/canīt remove/ canīt do anything^^)

But through the editor i have a way to do so :) Its like doing the whole prefab again but its a solution im very thankful for

i will finish the prefab in the next weeks i think.

I made a Bug post about the Vertices Error. It got accepted and reported to tfp. Now lets wait.
@all just dont mess around with these blocks untill there fixed^^

And i have to thank all of you for the Help! Without there wonīt be a new version :)

The current Version is really good to loot. Good lootrooms, and hidden deathblocks,
is funny to search for loot there. Waiting for the new Version.

Thereīs many hidden loot. chambers you have to find beside the "main road" to get into the deph of the dungeon.

The official version with sleepers will take some more time . enjoy and feel free to give impressions / suggestions.

I finished the Prefab :)

At the beginning i wanted to build the normal Sphinx...But it came out a bit lame and i decided to go with my own style to fit in 7dtd. Thereīs really good loot to find. You only need to manage to kill some zombies on your way to the chambers.
At the first look the loot is hidden but not that hidden , no one finds it. Use your brain and youīll find it ;)

Thatīs why its a bit mixed with fantasy/dungeon/some kind of Cult doing rituals or some kind of ♥♥♥♥. Maybe its the breeding place of the zombie apocalypse...No one knows for sure.
Its definitely fun to play through and i havenīt seen anything in comparison with the dungeon style.

Wow. Really good work. A lot of hiding places, with good and strong sleepers.
Many traps, and a good way to get to the masterroom.
I find nothing wrong there. I had half of a hour fun with it, and one death. ^^

I started to build the sphinx on a German 7dtd server. Just for fun.
I looked at many prefabs and learned something from everyone. There are some really good prefabs.

Since the sphinx was too small and I did not want to build everything new at the time i was building 2.0, I decided to rebuild and not to build new. I had problems with stability the vertices error and so on. I needed a break to think about how to build the final version.

I've deleted everything and been rebuilding for some time now. It is huge! You will get lost.



maybe I'll post photos of finished rooms from time to time. No hassle. I JUST STARTED. Here is a sneak peak.

Here is a preview of whats coming in A17. Get excited for a hugh Prefab with the goal to be a Endgame-Prefab with a real Threat.
One way down through many different Rooms with many Lootchambers, Zombies, Traps etc...

In the Pictures you can see parts of some big Rooms but there are other i need to finish before showing. And a ton of small Graves and Chambers.

I was doing some test plays in RWG and thought i make a video because pictures canīt describe.. :D ( and 7dtdīs picture policy is bad ^^)

i just want to Check the actual gameplay and did a video instead haha. Thanks to Pilleīs auto sleeper generator ,the sleeper setup was easy. Later iīll do it better and by hand. It was the first try.... and as i dont clear all sleepers it gets a bit laggy at some points in the video but with graphcs at max its ok...i think ;)


NOT included till i get hands on a17:
- Lootrooms wonīt be finished
- Loot
- Environmental Hazards ( A17 content )
- Many Blocks and Paints of a17 i will use :D
- Animal Sleepers ( maybe vulture nest in some big rooms? snakes..bear.. lets see )
- custom Quests etc possible with a17
- and i think there is more...^^

Guys. I've seen/used every design in about a billion prefabs. There are only a few blocks, no one has an "original" combination of them anymore... Get over it. Modding is a /community/ of /sharing/, or else it dies.

Hey iīm almost done and with a17 coming out soon iīd like to to give the Prefab a test run. On a Multiplayer Server!

So im looking for Server Owners who like to load this thing up. I will distribute some loot boxes and sleepers in the testversion.

Maybe there are a few who dont know what to to with their server? ;D



Mainly looking for stability issues i did not found, Performance on Servers with mutliple people on, Suggestions about all.

(NOT LOOKING for PAINT ISSUES, i know there are alot left :D)


The Testversion of the Prefab will be released mid-end NEXT WEEK.



ps. i dont care about other mods or xml changes on the Server. Also could be an creative mode active.

( There is still alot to do, i explain below )

With A17 i will release 2 Versions of the Sphinx.
- Normal Version
- SDX Version with custom Blocks, some Items etc.


As you explore the Prefab you will notice that the lootchambers are squares, no custom Art or any kind of Decoration. Looks a bit empty... The Loot is not as it will be in a17.

So...

- Later there will be more Coffin Variants, from small to Big as of now there are just 2 coffin versions i build.
- Loot will be better as deeper you advance.
- I did not include many Destroyed Brick blocks because they cause Vertices error. Sadly
- Loot chambers and Corridors will be more complex later
- The Sphinx head isnīt fully finished as of now
- Sleepers are now auto generated. With the final version i will place them per hand . Like the loot, the deeper you go the harder is gets but also more rewarding
- Alot of painting is still to do. meh ^^
- Lighting will be complete new in a17 so i assume i have to redo all to look awesome.



And Thanks to all the People that helped and are helping. Without you all it wouldnt be possible. So a really Big Thanks from me!!

Time passed another 2 weeks with no alpha 17 ... Here is a preview of some SDX items and Entity i made.

Textures unfinished, still some problems but on release everything will work fine!

Im almost finished with all the blocks / items / entity for the SDX version.
Now i just need to wait for a17, so i can finalize everything.

Quick Preview of the SDX Version which adds over 30 new Blocks , some Ancient Weapons, Items and 4 New Entity.
Most stuff is succesfull converted to Alpha 17.

New Version. Updated DL

- fixxed some sleeper Volumes and deleted empty volumes (thanks Magoli , i had overseen them)
- Tried to fix the water issue, but it still remains at some places..
- Adjusted some sleeper volumes and set a few to Boss Volume.
- changed Quest level to 5
- Removed alot of Light sources and changed some
- and some other things i cant remember.

What water issues. Mags mentioned to me the rotation and meta values being wrong. Or is there another issue

Hi, I love this prefab, great work! I can't seem to get it to show up in our Navezgane map quest list though. I got it to import fine, it is out in the mountains, but for whatever reason the trader never will give a quest for it. I tried lowering the DifficultyTier of the prefabs that came with the game to try and force this one to load, but I can sit there for 5 minute refreshing quests and never get one for it. Am I doing something wrong? I noticed I have the same problem with a couple of other prefabs from the awesome prefab collection. Some prefabs seem to get picked up for quests no problem, while others seem to never show up and I'm not sure why. EDIT:I seem to have fixed this by moving the POI prefabs closer to world origin. It seems like anything around the edges of the map isn't getting quests for some reason, but if I move it closer to origin it works great. Thanks again for this prefab.

Im lad you like it and i hope youīll get the quest soon :)

iīve tested some RWG worlds and it seems theres no problem getting the quest. For sure it can take some while to get low level quests, because there everywhere and maybe 7dtd prefers vanilla prefabs for quests. Dont know. Thats why i made it a Level 5 tier Endgame Prefab.

But the quests at the Trader for Fetch or Clear Sleeper does work.




For all other who are interested in the SDX version: I think End of the Month its RDY

-many new game models Block/Items ~80
- 5 new Entity ( Pharao, Anubis, QueenofDeath, Mummy, Skeleton)
- A Questchain to obtain powerfull weapons and mod attachments for them ( theres still the fetch and clear sleeper quests at trader)
- and so on :)

Hey guys, getting blocks shooting up through certain parts of this prefab about 30 or 40 blocks high. Ive tried a few a different locations, Forrest, dessert, same thing. Any ideas?
