Hi all!

Back again with the news that the latest patch is going live at 01:00 UTC Thursday / 5pm PST today (Wednesday)!

The usual bit and the notes from the team follow below!

- NOTES only apply to the fix DIRECTLY ABOVE them, unless otherwise stated
- You should NOT need to start a new save unless otherwise stated by the team.
- do NOT post bug reports below. They belong in the CONSOLE BUG REPORT section.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

Gameplay
∑ Fixed an issue that would prevent a smelted material from being usable, even when it was available in the Forge
∑ Fixed an issue that would cause the quest to find a trader to require a specific trader to be found; now it will pick the nearest trader and update the target when the player moves closer to another
∑ Fixed an issue that would cause the trader’s UI to close when a second player would exit a container in split-screen multiplayer
∑ Fixed an issue that would cause the “Cannot Breathe” indicator to vanish when underwater
∑ Fixed an issue that would cause stamina to decrease while walking after being teleported from a Trader settlement
∑ Fixed an instance of an issue that would occasionally cause blocks to spawn without support and create a mass collapse when broken
∑ Fixed an issue that cause interactive objects to be interacted with when an object on top of them was picked up
∑ Fixed an issue that allowed medical items to be used on certain inanimate objects (like minibikes)
∑ Fixed an issue that caused a destroyed bedroll’s indicator to persist after rejoining the game session
∑ Fixed an issue that would cause terrain to deform after a zombie would decay on top of it

Still havent fixed the 1.5 hr crash on xbox Online mp? I tried to stream 7 days as my main game but crashes and have to restart stream. other xbox streamers have same crash almost exactly 1.5 hrs. And slyen before you shut me down again. I had a large tread for crash but cant seem to find on profile now. gonna avoid streaming for while. bummer i love this game. Still crashes on a X box X.

Yep, I play on the PS4 also. Most of my gameplay is trying to replicate bugs lately though. For the most part I play solo, or local split. I tried hosting, and joining a few random games, but the console really doesn't do well with that unless you play with friends.

I do strongly hope for the day that I'll be able to host a server for the console. That would be a lot of fun. Personally though, I don't think it's likely to be implemented in the fashion I would wish for it to be, even if it ever happens.

First things, Iím playing on patch 13 AFTER Iíve cleared my system cache. Some of theses test are seen/tested in my survival game, others are tested in creative mode.

Normal PS4, NOT a ps4pro.

Zombie bodyís have a new breakdown system. Stage one is the walking form, stage two is the half body, stage three is the gore mess and spine.

Now to explain, If a body has loot on them during break down with a player object, stage three is not breakable. (Till you loot the body. (No more blue backpack). Gore Body explodes after loot.

If the body has no loot on them at all. During break down with a player made object, after stage 2 the body explodes and disappears. So no more stage 3 gore mess.

Now this could be how my loot chance is set or due to the new break down of bodyís, but Iíve yet to get a bone from a zombie. Got 1 fat. Once out of 20 zombies, no bone.

Appears you need to harvest a animal. Normal loot from them, bone, fat, meat.

Raw meat has a smell still. So all that still works. (This worked on patch 12, but required a new game after you cleared system cache.)

Thatís all Iíve got for now .
New breakdown system may be a fix for cloned/glitching duplicate items. Donít know how it was done, just know bodyís would sometimes be looted twice. (From multiplayer experience)

Edit 1: cobwebs. Description : A cobweb is made by a spider. If this was Marvel it might mean something. ( This happen when placing a block near a bolder it just kinda popped into my inventory.) At first I thought it said crowbar. Got super excited. Lol

You can now throw rocks. This may be old, and Iím late to the rock throwing game.

Rocket tips and case have a nicer icon. Ak47 still looks like a mess.

Bellows also look like bellows now. It been a while since Iíve played so these also could be they way they looked. But I swear bellows looked odd before.

Edit 2: landscape now seems to render in faster. No more driving mini bikes into blank flat land and freezing game till landscape loads in. Tested in multiple areas even in hub. If nothing is loaded you can keep driving and landscape will load in a second later.

The rocks and cobweb thing are old , but Iím assuming Iím gonna have to start a new world because I still have the blue backpack . I also had to start a new world with the last update too

Love the new shader fix it was weird having the distant terrain being such a different shading it was killing the immersion

BTW found a cool seed with 2 missile basses both in green biome both less than 2 k from hub city it has 9 town + hub (10 total) all towns are in desirable biomes grass lands pine forest and maple Forrest only two town have small portion in burnt biome and wasteland , wasteland biome is a bare minimum lots of workbench gas station in the south east and west the SEED name is AnthonyWright - three spaces after the name and remember the caps , the three spaces at the end are the trigger for the 2 missile bases with out it you will get completely different maps though i have noticed that most iteration of my AnthonyWright seeds tend to generated missile silo as with my gem AnthonyWright380 it has 2 hubs 10 towns and 1 missile silo in a green biome (most other seeds i generate spawn the silos in wasteland or burnt forest )

It should be useful to detonate landmines as we cannot disarm them, so we won't waste firearms ammo on landmines.

obviously not , or maybe they are , but something being ignored still has an affect map gen , though i haven't tested the seed without the 3 spaces if your feeling adventurous maybe you could try it and tell me how it works out but im satisfied with my awesome seed i just found a second hub making it 11 towns total 2 being hubs 6 being in green biomes 2 half and half's and 1 sandy

i do know you cannot have a seed name with nothing but spaces

They aren't. It tried "WnJ" and "Wn J", They are not the same maps. Maps main characteristics are similar (water areas, average altitude, ...) but there are a lot of differences.

i just got bones from Z's so ...... i think you may be unlucky or something , of course i did just find the BEST SEED IN THE GAME so maybe i'm just really damn lucky

Thanks for the info PantsThief!! Really informative. Sounds like some cool fixes. Not sure I like the fact we no longer get bone from Z's.....guess no more bone shank after 1st kill

Iím just unlucky. Lol.

For the most part itís all the same, really only noticeable thing was the body breakdown and the terrain lag with a mini bike into areas that are unloaded seemed to be tons faster. Almost unnoticeable.

The body breakdown will also help the game run smoothly for those bodyís we sometimes forget to clean up. Like I said in post tho there may be a chance for bone in zombies. I was just using a stone ax in survival. On day one.

One thing I didnít post was I found 2 bodyís of water with a 200 yard ďriverĒ connecting them in random gen. Rivers from my knowledge are pretty rare in random gen. Lest Iíve never seen one till yesterday. It was nice to see.
Idk if this is something new from this update or last.
Seed is ďIronWallsĒ
Quite a hilly map if anyone likes that kind of thing. Big lakes. Unsure what else is all in the map, I didnít play my survival game too long.

Has anyone noticed whether torches now attract zombies? I have played two sessions, one as a host and one as a guest. In both cases I have seen zombies attracted to our bases with bare minimums of light/heat sources and activities. For instance:

In the world I hosted I had no zombies near by, I had killed them all. I placed a torch on the wall and within a half hour window I had no less than the different times where zombies showed up and headed straight for my "base" as it were. No campfires or forges were going, just a single torch on the wall. And I know they weren't just wandering zombies because they came after me inside, and no I did not have anything like raw meat on me.

that sounds like a alpha 16 feature that they added, that things like torches and and spotlights attracts them

It would not surprise me if the console got this update. Torches generate a lot more heat if this was implemented.

HeatMapTime defines how long that value has an effect on the heatmap
HeatMapFrequency defines how often that value is added to the heatmap
HeatMapStrength is the value that adds to the heat every time it's checked

Also note, this is for player placed blocks. POI Blocks do not generate heatmap with the exception of workstations like the forge, campfire, cement mixer, ect.

Have you tried removing the zombie bodies with a shiv or knife? I'm getting bones that way. It does mean you either need to loot a knife or kill an animal and harvest it with your axe to get your first bone, but from then on it's easy to get the bones.

Probably not until the console version is optimized enough to where it can load something that big. If it were added to the console in it's current state, your FPS would drop into the single digits as soon as you got near it because you would run out of RAM on the system.

Thats very disappointing to hear, is it a possibility for the skyscrapers to ever appear on current gen consoles do you believe or no?

Of course anything is possible. But as of now that is all it is. I know it sucks but it is what it is really. I would say hope but don't hope. Just don't get hopes up for something that hasn't happened yet or hasn't been said. I'm looking forward to see how much more they can pull into the console but I don't get hopes up. Hope this helps kinda anyway lol

The limiting factors on the console are an extremely aged CPU, and just slightly over the minimum amount of RAM required for the game. The latest gen console only really upgraded the GPU, which doesn't do a game like this any favors.

Until the Unity engine is optimized better on the console, you are not likely going to see a lot of the new things that are appearing in the PC Alpha. The console hardware just isn't capable.

This is why I gave up on the console and bought me a gaming pc. Much better experience

As some one stated before i too have noticed considerably less instances of reaching the end of the rendered space and waiting on the rest to load

as for the dashong tower

i figured the current state of untiy's optimizations and the consoles limitations might make it impossible but that's not to say we won't get something like it maybe we'll get a scaled down version of it or maybe have it in more a destroyed state , or reduce the amount dungeon crawl in the building making it a little more sparse but equally as large im sure the guys working on the port are very interested in getting as much as they can to the console and finding ways to make it happen be patient it has come such a long form when i bought the game i

If you mine to much in one spot or try to build a large base underground it will glitch out the game and take half your base away. Also, every time I swing an axe I can see the landscape above no matter how far up it is.

This is the MD5 issue, not a mining-specific issue.

The limiting factors on the console are an extremely aged CPU, and just slightly over the minimum amount of RAM required for the game. The latest gen console only really upgraded the GPU, which doesn't do a game like this any favors.

Until the Unity engine is optimized better on the console, you are not likely going to see a lot of the new things that are appearing in the PC Alpha. The console hardware just isn't capable.

I feel quite ignorant that i dont even know what my own console has spec wise. Thanks for clearing that up, so we have three choices really.
1. [Easiest] buy pc
2. Make unity upgrade
3. Wait for newer gen console with better specs and re-release of the game

I heard that if you play navezgane, go completely sw, into the rad zone that the skyscrappers are there, the devs hid them for only the elite to find and enjoy. The rad cops and vultures are there too!

You have to let yourself die 1000 times trying to cross the rad zone in that location then press up down up up down and that will unlock it.

Make sure to place a sleeping bag near the border...

But you could take the easy way out and go into creative multiplayer and because console currently has a bug that you can not die no matter what you can just walk into it with no problems lol.

Probably not until the console version is optimized enough to where it can load something that big. If it were added to the console in it's current state, your FPS would drop into the single digits as soon as you got near it because you would run out of RAM on the system.

Then this should be no problem for the Xbox One X.

also why has the option to inspect items in the Combine section of workbench has been blocked?

like when you press triangle on say a battery you are combining nothing happens?

if this was a fix for something its not necessary a fix is it? more of a loophole and disabling an important builtin feature in the game...

Lol the developers didn't put it in they was being sarcastic. Nothing at all is out past the red zone. It is the end of the map. Kinda like minecraft end of map is a invisible wall. Well 7dtd end of the world is the red zone.

Unfortunately no. Sorry but it is still not powerful enough. The Unity engine itself has to get optimized for console first then maybe.

essentially ram is the issue for 7d2d, next gen consoles should allow us to put in how much ever ram we want. 64G+ should be enough to host 40+ people on the PS5?

But the CPU isn't much of an improvement, and the very slight increase in RAM actually runs slower.

Also they would have to design a separate branch for just that one single console flavor. That's also not likely to happen.

The XB1-X may be the "fastest console yet", but it's not fastest by very much. You could almost split a hair with the difference.

It would be kind of like Ford saying the Shelby GT is the fastest consumer sports car yet, just because it goes 3mph faster in a quarter mile than the base model Corvette.

If Sony and MS are smart, the core tech shouldn't need to change that much. Then a simple patched branch could be created for the next gen that allows usage of newer hardware and game features.

Backwards compatibility wouldn't be much harder than playing old Windows XP games on Windows 10. I hear they are re-making Neverwinter now.

The prediction of ps5 is around 2019 or 2020. If this happens who knows but it is pretty likely considering Sony track record. Assuming things go as planned TFP would like the game to be gold no later than 2020 but we shall see if that happens. So if it does happen then I would say because of a new finished game is is pretty likely it would be on next Gen console. But of course all of what I said is just a opinion and speculation.

Just wondering when we can expect this to be up to the same features as the PC version, I own both, and honestly have been playing more on PC, I also rented a PC Server, but I could get a lot more people in my PS4 crew involved if we could have more than 4 players at a time, and only when we are all on at the same time. So a PC Hosted ps4 server would be nice, like Ark has. That's not a diss, it's a wish, because I love this game way better than ark.

Maybe, think it is to early to say on either.

Nothing confirmed but word has it Sony will probably allow backwards compatibility on the ps5. I wouldn't guarantee it or anything but for now at least it is a possibility until they actually confirm it.

As far as Xbox goes we have no clue how they will design the next one so depending on this it might not get md5 like Playstation doesn't (or at least no reports from Playstation owners on it or very very rare)

Either way both are to early to say one way or the other.

Even if TT doesn't move forward on it nothing would be stopping TFP from doing the port themselves at that point. The pc version will being getting finished (maybe) around that time so they wouldn't be 100% focused on getting the game completed. The only thing they have is the next project they will/might start.

If you're comparing the ps3 lifetime to ps4, that's laughable 100 percent. the ps3 was 10x the upgrade that ps4 was. thats why it was 1200 dollars when it came out (1500 in todays money) and the ps4 can be had for 300 bucks.

5-10 years? If you say so. Based on Sony track record they release a next Gen console every 6 to 7 years. PS4 was released in 2013 so that would most likely put PS5 around 2019-2020. Is it guarantee? No but just go off the track record.

Ps4 needs compound bow, machete, 1 new vehicle and auto torrets. With that people will be fairly content for 6+ months.... After realizing how much the ps4 v was actually missing, I bought it on the PC to get my fill. Which was the best decision as I was able to get 3 other friends that didnt want anything to do with ps4/xbox. Doubled my RL friends playing and double fun! Sadly my PC cant handle 7days nearly as good as the ps4. Gotta turn all the video down to low for no lag. Still fun.

Is the xbox one x going to make a difference with the game or are you guys going to make an enhanced version for it and will it make a difference with the updates i was wondering also when will the console get electricity in the game do they have a time frame of when the game will be finished and would we have to buy the game again when it's finished

Not really, and not likely.
When it is ready. Hardware limitations are preventing consoles from getting much more than they have now.

I'm sorry if I'm being so demanding and asking too much from you developers, you guys made a great game no doubt about it, but can you give us Console players some news or at least a hint that you guys are currently working on it, trying to make it all work for PlayStation and Xbox and that we will get it soon?
