I mostly liked that setup, felt somewhat more organic. It wasn't perfect by any means, and could have used a little more variance, but i still feel overall that it was better than the jigsaw puzzle version of the map.

    Kinyajuu: Not yet.

Often during development until a feature has reached a certain stage the devs actually do not want testers giving feedback. It’s a huge waste of time for testers to report issues already known or to ask, “ Do you want me to put in a ticket for the fact that most of the map is water?”

RWG is not meant to be tested or even really played with yet. You CAN but it is up to you to have as much fun as possible and the devs aren’t even interested yet in feedback because they are still working on it.

If you like the 17.1 maps better then make some and play those while you wait. Otherwise it’s Navezgane for now.
The problem is you want us to give you feedback for 17.2 release so how can we give an accurate feedback when the world was created in v17.1 or earlier? You're always saying that we should create a new world whenever a new version is released.

That's funny. You guys tell the testers not to give feedback until the feature has reached certain stage yet you release the feature to the public? In addition you *want* the players to give you feedback. Doesn't this seem off?

If RWG is not meant to be tested or even really played with yet, then why make the changes? Why not keep the original 17.0 or 17.1 version RWG until it is fully working? Yes the public asked for it but we wanted changes that actually fix the game, not make it worse.

Things that make you go hmm...

PS - Looks like I can't create 17.1 maps unless I switch to stable branch. But if I do that I can't see the features/changes in the 17.2 update.

Well, I think the idea was to test the other systems in 17.2 experimental. I think. I don't have any inside information, so that's pure supposition on my part.

I certainly hope RWG is getting fixed before 17.2 goes stable because the maps I've generated so far weren't worth even starting a game on. I wouldn't expect stable before this is fixed, I should think.

Pretty soon you won't have a band of devoted modders to keep this going years from now. First you turn off the casuals, then you turn off the hardcore players. Now its hitting some of the modders.

I know what everyone is going to say. Its Experimental. Its being worked on. We waited a YEAR AND A HALF for this. How much longer do you think some of us are going to hang on to a hope that's never seeing the light of day? Instead of ripping out Progression and Skills the time could have been best spent developing NEW systems, new additions. Instead part if it was squandered. Now all of the good parts of A17 are quickly being overshadowed by the issues.
I'm playing less and less of 7dtd since a17 hit, I like some of the changes, but others just really kill the game for me: encumbrance from inventory slots, move speed reduction from armor, the stam regen reduction from armor also sucks. These 3 issues are some of the major ones why I am losing interest in the game. Bascally I dispise moving slow in games, and it feels like its punishing me for using armor and my inventory in 7dtd.

The game needs more blood and gore, if I shoot a zombie in the face with a shotgun I expect his head to explode if its a shot that would have killed it or something. I'll even take the a16 dismemberment system over a17 anyday. Sledgehammer should be literally smooshing heads as well.

I also find it boring how everything is perk based now, I miss needing to find books to make things, it made exploration more exciting when you finally found that book you needed.

Even AAA companies often take a LONG time to make games. For example - Final fantasy 15 was in development for TEN years, and they're still working on it even post-launch with DLC.
FF15 was also easly the most garbage final fantasy game ever as well. It looked pretty but thats pretty much ALL it had of value.

It feels like they threw out a lot of good things, like how customizable A16's RWG was, for seemingly no reason.
I agree with you here, I like some of the features of a17 like the mod system, the weather survival system etc, but there are many aspects I dislike: like i said the encumbrance for inventory/armor/stamina from armor just feels like its punishing me for using it. I don't see a point to them making the inventory bigger if its going to start smaller than a16 and destroy your movement speed for using it. I hate movement speed reductions in games, even moreso in a game like 7dtd.

Yeah RGW are pretty much horrible right now. Too bad.. I was waiting on A17.2 to start playing again.

Guess it's back to other games again

Thanks, but i was not the one who found it. Only the one who constructed and advertised the seed thread ^^
Sadly the maps i found by myself are mostly trash.

    Like the worst seed ever

gimme good map = 3036 Pois
    Island = 70 Pois

Yeah, exactly. How many maps did you have to generate before you found a good one? Most of them are thrash.

And what about the people (me included), who just generate a map and play on it? Probably the vast majority of people..

When it will be possible to generate maps like this one on purpose, I know that I will do a test. It's a real survival map, in a vast and empty world. The current concern is that it's difficult to find a map that fit exactly to our taste, but all maps are playable.

I found a seed "Eternal Slayers" 220 kb prefab, no traders at all! only 10 wilderness poi's on it this is just ridiculous, we need wilderness back imo

    Yeah all maps are playable.

    Enjoyable? Most of them aren't.

    Like you said, almost.
The one who work on RWG, also have to do bugfixing. At least to some extent.
And some time ago he had to put RWG on halt to fix bugs. Hence why i figure
fixing bugs have higher priority. Not by what they say, but by what they do.

That said, i think he does a good job. And i do like the island maps, they look almost
perfect for those who want bit more challenge. But perhaps not so good for server maps.

And the best part of this new RWG (that came with A17), is the ability to edit the biome
maps on our own. Although i've had no big success with that, i haven't tried that hard.
