    A18 b143 EXP bug reporting thread

    Hey folks!
    We released A18 b143 EXP to public !
    This thread will serve for bug reports.

    To Opt in:

    Select 7 Days to die in your Steam games list
    Right click and select properties
    Under the Betas tab select latest_experimental – Unstable build


    To potentially help with FPS problems:
    #1 lower game's texture quality
    #2 lower AF in driver settings or use "gfx af 0" ingame
    #3 lower game's screen resolution

    • Gfx st budget/forceload console commands
    • Gfx tex console command to show texture usage info

    • Improved item display and descriptions for shotgun ammo
    • Junk turret HP is the same as durability of the held item
    • Make junk turrets able to be picked up by enemies
    • ToolAnvil and toolBellows are unlocked by schematics, not perkAdvancedEngineering
    • Farm plots are worth less to sell
    • Vitamins also prevent Dysentery
    • Updated many POI xml tags with better zoning, and allowed townships
    • Item stat displays improved. They can now display values like "XP 10%".
    • Raft texture settings to save memory (is in game, but not spawnable)
    • Changed house_old_pyramid_02 resize optimized out 75K verts/tris
    • Renamed woodFurnitureBlockVariantHelper to Wooden Storage / Furniture
    • All ak47's are referred to as machine guns now in items and perk descriptions so they are not confused with rifles
    • Improved many POIS tagging so they will show up better and in more appropriate zones in RWG
    • All items with parts that belong to the same perk scrap to the same part. For example all handguns now scap to “handgun parts” and all handgun class weapons such as pistols, smgs, and magnums are crafted from handgun parts. Existing m60 parts, sniper rifle parts etc can be scrapped to the new parts
    • PerkFlurryOfBlows adjusted and description improved
    • Updated attachment positions on M60.
    • Gfx key console command to not put GAME_ in front of name
    • Sledgehammer and Baseball bat heavy fire now swings through target.
    • Removed test raft from blocks xml to lower memory footprint at startup
    • Beds no longer harvest cotton plants
    • Safes, munitions box, power line and light poles harvest steel with a wrench

    your output log files are in C /steamLibrary/steamapps/common/7Daystodie/7daystodiedata/ you will find a list of ol logs, the last one being the most recent.

    also when taking a screen shot you can use the debug info, go into dm mode ( Type dm in the console ) Type dm to turn it off again
    Press F3, that will bring up the debug overlay, you will need to press f3 twice to close it.
    If you use the f3 feature no need for coords in the screenshot as they are in that info.

    If you generated your own RWG world, please provide the generationinfo.txt from its generated world folder, so we can reproduce this C:\Users\You\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\GeneratedW orlds\yourworld\GenerationInfo.txt

    Bug Description:
    When I host a game my stealth goes to 100% whenever any member of my party cuts down a tree even if they are on the other side of the map.

    Reproduce steps:

    1. Host a mp game.
    2. Have someone else join and add them as an ally and party member.
    3. Have both players crouch.
    4. Have guest player cut down a tree.

    Actual result:
    When the tree falls both player's stealth bar goes to full no matter how far apart the two players happen to be.

    Expected result:
    Only the player cutting down the tree should be affected by the noise.

    İs "different windows language problems" in known issues list ? i see its still not fixed in current patch also can you guys add knows issues list pls.

    This will be fixed in b144.

    Bug Description:
    When I scrap any guns I lose the ammo in the weapon, this is different then A17 and not realistic.

    Reproduce steps:

    1. Find any gun
    2. Scrap gun and lose the ammo that was in the gun

    Actual result:
    Player loses the ammo that was in the clip of the gun

    Expected result:
    Ammo from the scraped weapon goes into the players inventory like in real life when you break apart a weapon, also like A17

    Bug Description: I link a video so you can see it with your own eyes. It started since my upgrade to alpha18, still with the b143 version.

    Actual result: Weird particles effects on ground textures, Veichles, walls, buildings and trees doenst look like in the video, they are fine. But ground is all covered by those annoying particles. Therefore, I noticed a huge performance loss from A17.4 to A18 from 90/100fps to 35/40fps. The Texture Streaming feature doesnt make difference.

    Expected result: I expect to see it running like in the A17.4 or better without those strange random effects on the ground textures and at the same performance.

    Bug reporting form doesnt contain it, but I will add my PC specs, cause I think it can help you finding the solution.

    CPU: Ryzen 5 3600x
    GPU: RX 5700 XT
    RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16Gbyte 3200MHz
    SSD: yes

    Bug Description:

    I was never been able to cleanly quit out of A18.

    Hoped that B143 would solve this, but I have to finally report it.

    Reproduce steps:

    1) Start the game
    1/bis) [optional: play five minutes or five hours - same deal]
    2) Try to Quit. It hangs. Mouse still moves, music stops, but it won't exit. Only workaround is Alt-F4 out of it.
    3) Can't open console after that - so no dbs. Actually, can't do anything with the client but force closing from outside.

    Actual result: Menu text stays there with background picture and "enlarged" QUIT string (as it's being pressed, since it was just pressed!), mouse pointer can move, music stops, but it will never really quit.

    Expected result: Quit the game!

    Bug Description: When trying to interact with any generator block: Generator Bank, Solar Bank or Battery Bank it results in a console error and after the error there is no way to interact with any block until the block, that caused the error is destroyed.

    Reproduce steps: Start new game, enable creative mode, get and place on the ground any of: Generator Bank, Solar Bank or Battery Bank, then try to interact with them.

    Actual result: Generator Bank, Solar Bank or Battery Bank can't be used.

    Expected result: When interacting with Generator Bank, Solar Bank or Battery Bank they should open up the UI just like in A17

    Additional information:
    commenting out this line in XUi/windows.xml fixes the problem, but energy fill no longer works (obviously):

    Possible cause:
    powerfill is incorrectly formatted when the power generator power is at 0.

    Status: Existing bug, new bug for me

    Bug Description: Terrain is showing the oddities that AMD GPU users were reporting on in b139, yet I have an Nvidia GPU (Titan Xp) - oh well, back to using PREGEN worlds.

    Reproduce steps: Go to this location in seed 7Days2Die with the coords -870 51 400
    Edit: Another location at 3421 123 -204 (next to this spot is the very small patch of what exists of the desert biome)

    On another note as per the title, from the previewer the same seeds show no desert biome or very little of it - you even have a couple of patches of forest into the burnt biome.

    Bug Description: When trying to modify leather duster by clicking "Modify" it results in a console error.

    Reproduce steps: Start new game, enable creative mode, get a Leather duster and put it in your inventory, try to modify it.

    Actual result: Trying to modify Leather duster results in a console error.

    Expected result: I should be able to modify the leather duster and change the dye.

    I know about the AMD bug, but this is not related to AMD cards

    Also have Lowest map size (i think it was 4kX4k ? )
    Spawn a Gyro and Fly around North.
    You will notice a huge wall splitting the desert biome from the grass biome.
    Fly more north, you will notice a huge wall splitting Grass Biome of Snow Biome.

    Reproduce steps:
    Create random gen world in b139

    Press F1 to open the console, then type dbs
    This will open a panel in game for you to type the bug in.
    once done click ok
    there will then be a SCREENSHOTS folder in the main 7 days folder.

    Rotated vault doors placed on same level as 100 pillar cap are able to squeeze player between iron pole and ramp wedge type block and make them glitch into any solid block as long they are capped off with asphalt. Moving backwards while being pushed is necessary as seen on video.

    Previous glitches I reported work too, but it seems to be much bigger problem, so probably could not be repaired in 3 versions.

    I couldn't repro this. Watched your video many many times. I'm 98% sure I have the right blocks and the right rotations, but the player pops out in front of the poll every time. Holding back against the wedge block too. Anything else you can provide would be helpful. Thanks! - Schwanz9000

    Actual result: Can't install mod, gear icon greyed out.

    Expected result: To be able to install mod.

    Bug Description: After dying FPS went from around 50FPS to 7FPS

    Reproduce steps: Started new game on ultra video settings (its not something I would usually play on but wanted to stress test) game sat around 50FPS and was easily playable. Moved through desert biome on PREGEN01 map into town in a forest biome. FPS remained pretty stable only VERY briefly dipping to around 40FPS at it MOST extreme point.

    Fought a few zeds and also experienced no noteworthy shift in FPS during these fights, but I eventually died and respawned in the desert biome. It was after this death that my FPS instantly dropped dramatically to sit between 5-10FPS, needless to say it was torturously slow and unplayable.

    Alt-tabbing into a windows environment also saw this stuttering and framerate drop carry across into the windows environment. With the game still open I started a new game and the 5-10FPS remained an issue with this new map. It was only when I exited the game entirely that was I able to stop it completely.

    After fully quitting the game and restarting it, I once again had the 50FPS I began with.

    edit: Dropped my graphics settings and tried the exact same thing. and I did not experience any FPS drop whatsoever (after dying). These are the settings I changed:

    Antialiasing:YES>NO
    Reflection Quality:HIGH>MIDDLE
    Reflected Shadows:YES>NO
    Water Quality:HIGH>LOW
    Tree Quality:ULTRA>HIGH
    Grass Distance:FAR>NEAR

    Motion Blur:NORMAL>OFF

    SS Reflections:HIGH>LOW
