    A18.2 b2 EXP bug thread

    Known Issues
    (regularly updated):

    • RWG has some road issues
    • RWG may cause blurry textures right after it is generated. Restarting the game will fix this.
    • RWG world generation results may vary from PC to dedi
    • Large FPS drops may occur if texture streaming is “OFF”
    • Repairing item results in using hands and item
    • Taking aim with night vision goggles show like you don't have them turned on
    • Dropped time charges and molotovs are ARMED
    • Stealth goes to 100% when an ally/party member cuts down a tree
    • Game doesn’t shut down properly on PC and Linux after long play session
    • Trader Jen has a male voice
    • Killing with auger & chainsaw does not reward any XP
    • No sound effect when refueling auger and chainsaw
    • Placing solid blocks under burnt wood 4 makes it go invisible
    • Rapid fire with the bow can break its animation
    • Hunting rifle reload can go out of sync
    • Zombies can push the player into the void if they fall on top of the player while in a 1 wide hole
    • Zombies can still dig while doing their pain animation
    • Missing water in POI’s
    • Boats collapse at docks_03 Haulwell Freight Co.
    • Crawlers can’t climb over bars, fences, or any other plate style blocks
    • Crawlers don’t try to hit blocks they can’t climb over
    • Crawlers can hit players on the other side of blocks
    • Leg dismembered zombies can jump up and start walking
    • Leg dismembered zombies that don’t start walking again have a weird climb animation
    • Drawbridge exploit
    • Vehicles placed underground exploit
    • Land claim block with infinite settings are not working properly

    • Map markers are active on the whole screen and interact and work on the whole screen
    • Spears stuck in world, despawn when player dies and comes back also relogging

    • treeJuniper4m is invisible, this will not take effect until a new game is started
    • Shotguns Thanos-snap small and sometimes medium animals
    • Players above lvl 60 will have to get a level up before they are affected by the max xp clamp
    • AMD 5k and 6k cards may have flashing triangles on the ground
    • Low VRAM GPUs may experience low frame-rates
    • Mac reflections may cause color issues in general or brightness issues on movement
    • Mac: Stun/Bleed may cause overly strong screen effects, please lower intensity of stun/bleed/knockdown in buffs.xml until we can fix it
    • Mac: If you are crashing, please try to disable EAC
    • Linux machines with 8 GB RAM may crash on generating RWG worlds or loading into RWG games
    • Linux mousewheel is inverted due to a bug with the Unity engine which will be fixed in the next Unity update

    Bug Description: When an item modifier that gives a buff is placed into an item, and that item is on the toolbar, selecting that item fires the buff but then deselecting that item does not remove that buff.


    Reproduce steps:


    1. Edit buffs.xml to set the buff Bandolier property to hidden=false so we can see the error
    2. Run game and place a chest armor item and the bandolier item modifier onto an empty toolbelt
    3. Place bandolier modifier into the chest armor
    4. Select the armor as the active item, note buff fired in character window
    5. Select an empty toolbelt slot, note in character window the buff remains on.


    Actual result: Buff remains on when no item with that buff is active


    Expected result: Buff is removed

    Crafting farm plots with Living of the Land lvl 2 or 3 (reduced crafting cost) correctly costs less resources to craft but still requires you to have the original resource cost per farm plot before you can start crafting.

    Spoiler: 
    For example: Get Living of the Land level 3 so a farm plot only costs 5 rotting flesh. Take a full stack of nitrate, wood and clay. Now take 5 rotting flesh (enough to craft 1 farm plot) and the game won't let you start the craft. (I didn't test if this bug also applies to the wood, clay and nitrate in the recipe but I assume it does)
    Take 100 rotting flesh and the game will let you start a stack of 10 farm plots (only costing 50 of your 100 rotting flesh), but it won't allow you to queue 11-20 farm plots at once despite having enough rotting flesh for it.

    Status: Not in Known Issues, but it mmay have been reported rather informal before, this is evidence in a controlled environment

    Bug Description:

    Because there were hints about loot abundancy not working correctly (leaving too many loot containers empty or having less loot) I used creative mode to get me 30 Shotgun Messiah Sealed Shipping Crates. I used a mod so breaking this crate did create small ammo piles instead of shotgun messiah loot crates because the more limited loot table of the ammo piles made it easier to get at results.


    Reproduce steps:

    1) Either use Shotgun Messiah Sealed Shipping Crates as is (this I did not test though), use a poi with lots of small ammo piles or use a mod with this in blocks.xml:

    2) Start a game with 100% loot abundancy.
    3) Turn on creative mode and get a stack of Shotgun Messiah Sealed Shipping Crates
    4) Loot them and note how many are empty, maybe also note how many stacks of items are included per Crate
    5) Start a game with 75% loot abundancy and go through steps 3 and 4 again.
    6) Compare the numbers


    Actual result:

    Results with two games started fresh, one at 100% and one at 75% loot abundancy. 30 small ammo piles ("cntAmmoPileSmall") looted:

    100% had 30 or 100% of loot crates filled
    75% had 10 or 33% of loot crates filled

    100% had a combined sell value of 722 dukes
    75% had a combined sell value of 337 dukes

    The stacks of ammo seem to be equally high per loot pile (with only 30 loot boxes that assertion is with some uncertainty). If we assume 75% of loot boxes would have been filled the combined sell value would have been 758, pretty similar to 722 dukes, so money-wise stack sizes/contents of boxes look ok as well. It is only the number of empty piles that is unexpected


    In conclusion, there are too many empty loot piles, 33% instead of the expected 75%, the rest (loot amount and quality per pile) seems to be ok.


    Expected result: At 75% loot abundancy someone should get roughly 75% of the loot of someone playing at 100%. This would have happened in my test if actually 75% of the loot piles had loot in them.

    Summary: On Blood Moon Days or right before the start of a Blood Moon, playing on a PvP server and placing a Bedroll down. Upon death during this time period and anytime afterwards if you do not replace bedroll after BM is officially over. Other players will respawn in on other player's bedrolls or last person to place one down. This causes people to easily find each other and exploits their location to enemy human players.

    Status: 1st happened in A18.1 b6 and is still occurring in A18.2 b2

    Bug Description: Tested LCB with different protection amounts for both online and offline protection and none did anything against explosives. Dynamite, timed charges and rockets all did normal damage against and enemy players LCB area. Tools/Melee weapons were all properly effected by LCB but not explosives. I tested this out against steel and reinforced concrete on both A18.1 B6 and A18.1 B5 and both the LCB was not providing protection against explosives.

    Reproduce steps:
    1) 1st player places LCB and some steel blocks or vault doors within the protected area
    2) 1st player stays online or goes offline
    3) 2nd player uses explosives (dynamite, timed charges and rockets) on LCB area

    Actual result: Explosives do same damage against LCB protected area as a non protected area.

    Expected result: Explosives doing reduced damage based on protection settings against a LCB area.

    Status: Not in known issues, First used in A18.2 b2.

    Bug Description: I am playing as client on the Sub-server of JonahBirch (Twitch). And laying a road as all other roads in 7 days to die with asflat and gravel edges. But the asfalt does not show the asfalt texture. It takes the texture of dirt of the biome. It sounds like asfalt if you walk over it. It has the hp of asfalt too. Repair is with cement-mix. On the map it looks (colored) the same as the asfalt road of the game.

    Reproduce steps:
    1) dig 4 x 4 one deep in dirt (removing the top layer)
    2) Fill the 4 x 4 in with asfalt

    Actual result: The asfalt does not show the asfalt texture. It takes the texture of dirt of the biome.

    Expected result: It should show the texture of asfalt.

    Bug Description: Items disappear like earth, small stone and more
    We had this bug already at some time in Alpha 18 Experimental, but we begun a new game when stable came out. We had this problem there too at some point. Then we begun a new game again at 18.1 and the problem was there... and now on 18.2 b2 too. We canīt find a solution, it doesnīt matter if the items are in a normal chest or in a kitchen container. Also a chest over our workbench just were unsorted and a few items disappeared again. We canīt explain how this problem occures, but i read in the internet about this sort of problem about older versions too.
    We also canīt say if there is a special time when it occures, sometimes we play a few days and everything is ok, and today the problem came up multible times.

    Because of the problem i put a few items back from cheat mode and they also disappeared after a few minutes in the chest!
    The problem occures with different players, different bases and different containers.

    Reproduce steps: Tested it with normal chests and also kitchen containers, normal farmed items and cheat mode items.

    Summary: Explosives don't trigger stuff like 'on killed other' unless directly targeted at the enemy (rocket launcher). It also seems to only work with rockets, not even contact grenades directly aimed at a zombie trigger code on kill.

    this reminds me of the bug in A17 that rockets wouldn't give EXP unless you aimed directly on a zombie. Hitting the ground and the zombie dying to the explosion wouldn't give u experience, which was a problem in crowded hordes where you would kill a bunch of zombies and get exp for one or none of them.

    Welp, this was fixed long ago but I just realized it still fails to trigger a lot of stuff, however explosions are coded.

    Summary: XP to next lvl is way too low in the new system

    I don't know whether it's a bug or my save being from first experimental build, but the new XP cap is making me levelling up way too fast. Right now I'm lvl 90 and I just need 187k XP for the next lvl: thats is insane. Before patch, I believe around lvl 82, it was 640k XP, a little bit too much (should be something like 500k), but a lot better than now. I finished day 91 horde and 1 day mining gave me 5 lvls. When I first saw 186k XP for next lvl I thought it was the new system kicking in because my xp bar was blanked, then I realized something was off. I change my xp to 25% otherwise my gamestage "would literally explode". To sum up, is this intended or my game is bugged?
