lol - What you need to do is pretty clear, but the sarcastic side of it took me some time to understand.

Yes, I would love to see those kind of achievements in 7dtd as well.
    - Some incredibly nutty way to kill a special zombie - Hit a Feral with your stone axe all the way down until you kill it. Similar to the "Kill a lumber jack zombie with a fire axe" quest we have.
    - Kill some animal with a falling tree. Killing a zombie this way seems too easy as they walk/run towards you. Once I have accidentally managed to kill a chicken this way, which gave me a good WTF laugh.
    - Maybe some achievement to congratulate you for a darwin-award-like way to get yourself killed; e.g. you die after a 60+ block deep fall.
    - Some "Master Beta Tester" award if you manage to fall off the world. But that would require some self-mockery on the developers side.

Well, some Noob achievements are needed for the people who by the game in the future. For some of them making their first 100 stone axes WILL feel like an achievement.

For those who have played for awhile I thought of these: Perfect Steel Axe, Don't die for 25 (50,75,100) hours concurrent, Build a full set of 500+ level iron armor, kill 50 Zombie bears, Find 20 drops (when not being flagged by game). I would like to have a little achievement stuff running in the background but it will not affect how I play the game.

There have been a bunch of achievement lists made over the past couple of years. Finding them would be the challenge.

We should start a new one and submit it to the devs. They can do what they want with it, but we could still exercise our creative juices.

Here are a few I think would be fun to complete:

    - "The Hamburglar" - Steal food from another player's chest.
    - "Close Call" - Cure advanced dysentery
    - "Happy to be alive" - Survive a bomb disarming attempt
    - "Furry Friend" - Attain your first pet
    - "MadMole" - Survive the Horde night "Gunz A-Blazin" (Fire 50 shots during a horde night)
    - "The Run Run run, Runaway" - Sprint for 4 minutes straight
    - "Even-keeledMole" - Relax, and have a beer by the lake
    - "Are you even playing" - Be idle for 10 minutes
    - "I know you are power leveling" - Be idle for 10 minutes in forge UI
    - "How's it going down there" - hit bedrock for the first time
    - "Stealing 2nd" - Cut 2 limbs off a zombie
    - "You, Shall not Pass" - Activate your drawbridge
    - "You didnt read the Wiki" - Take Painkillers while infected
    - "Roland, Roland, Roland" - Steamlink to the forum, you'll get it

At least they were a fun way to kill 10 mins.

It seems to me that this could be the last time to change anything about it. Once they have it fully implemented, I doubt that they would change anything. And from what I can see so far, the dummy achievements are pretty "lackluster". It might be worthwhile to ask madmole directly if he wants to hold on to the current ones. Give it a try, because I wouldn't be surprised if he put me on his ignore list.

Yeah there needs to be a little more unique achievements, think that's agreed upon. Hopefully they will get added to with time. Honestly though, as much as I love achievements in games; I love hidden items and jumping puzzles more. There's been big inspiration from games like Skyrim for this development, and while we have the taza's axe as a hidden item in the game, I'd love to see named weapons hidden in hard to reach section of POIs, that way they can spawn on random gen as well as Navezgane. Then you can tie these hidden items into the achievement system as a more unique achievement. Then throw on some jumping puzzles that have a secured area like the trader posts are getting so you can't cheat and build your way to the top, and you've got some more unique achievements and places to hide unique items as well.

    > "Are you even playing" - Be idle for 10 minutes
    That one made me chuckle

    > "You didnt read the Wiki" - Take Painkillers while infected
    lol, good one. ^^

    > "Roland, Roland, Roland" - Steamlink to the forum, you'll get it
Does the Steam api allow to implement this? But it seems to be a good idea to get more people on the forums.

    > "You, Shall not Pass" - Activate your drawbridge
I have thought of this title myself, but couldn't figure out for which activity to use it.

    > "Stealing 2nd" - Cut 2 limbs off a zombie
What might be a good title for - Cut off all 4 limbs, then smash the head?
On the other hand, it might be a bit too gruesome.

Which makes me wonder if achievements can be removed, once they have been unlocked by players? So you should be certain that you really want to stick with the ones that were chosen so far.

This would be the cherry of the cake of how to do achievements, which takes a lot more time to implement. I guess they are planning to unlock achievements when releasing A15. So in order to improve what seems to be planned, we need some easy-to-implement ones first. I am pretty sure that you can still add new ones when the time is ready.

another year of achievement school. I chuckled. As for hurting people's feelings...honestly, there's a few parts, first... if you put it on the internet, things will happen to it, like porn, or get trolled, or have it criticised. So leanring how to take feedback is important, since not all of it is negative. but in turn, if it's full of profanity...it probably isn't constructive.

I think they might have followed a trend of people mistaking ACHIEVEMENTS. for MILESTONES.

I think the difference is one requires an adventure, go out of your way to do something that you could FAIL at doing. the other...is just a meter of your progress, based on how often, or how far you've gone.

yeah! that's an achievement, it's creative, it's a little silly. and it's a CHALLENGE. I would feel like I was in a mental hospital if I was lauded for eating breakfast every day. "good boy, you ate your wheaties!"

see, I actually had perfect steel pickaxe as possible "I'm ok with this" sorts of "milestones" but they're memorable, and distinctive. killing 50 zombie bears isn't as bland and straight foreward as "die 50 times."

I could see jump puzzles being doable, some of those half destroyed buildings in the cities are practically jump puzzles already! it would be nice having some special weapons, but I don't know how far into that i want to push the game towards becoming another borderlands.

    Excellent challenge!

    Ooooh!

How about a challenge to jump the mini bike across that big new canyon. Would require ramp building and some dancing with death.

Even just building a bridge across the canyon would be worthy of something.

Or a 'touch the sky' challenge - to build a structure up to the games ceiling (without it collapsing, or dying on the way back to earth).

call the achievement 22 days later :-)

    Other random achievements -
You're hot then your cold - Be under the affect of cooling red tea and warming Meat stew.
the BEEEEEES - Kill 5 Wasps with a crossbow or bow
I'll be back - Kill cop zombie while only having sunglasses, leather Duster, Denim Pants, a shotgun and Military boots.
Ginger Bread man - Run 10km while the horde is chasing you on a 7th night.
If you gotta go - Consume broken glass.
    Here's Johnny - Kill 50 zombies with a fireaxe.

That made me somehow think thought of
    - Ghost Rider / Johnny Blaze - ride your minibike while on fire

As for the construction part, it might be too tricky to implement. How/When do you test if the conditions are met to grant the achievement?

Nice. This should be a doable milestone-like challenge, similar to:
    Cave Dweller - reach bedrock
